Service League thanks

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Service League of Crystal Lake, I would like to thank our participating homeowners, sponsors and the community for their support of our successful 2013 Housewalk, and for helping us raise over $23,000.

Service League’s ability to host this event depends on the tremendous generosity of our homeowners who opened their doors to us: Steven and Julie Siavelis, Charlie and MaryAnne Collins, BJ and Julie Jenkins, and Bob Hurley.

Thank you to every local business that supported us with cash and in-kind donations, and by selling tickets to our event. Our deepest thanks to our Ambassador Club sponsor Dalzell Jewelers, which donated the beautiful Honora Pearl necklace and earrings to our raffle.

Thanks also to our friends Dr. John Daniels, Crystal Lake Pediatric Dental, Home State Bank, Dr. Marko Krpan, Dr. Gregory Kubik, Market Financial Group, Material Girl and the Shade Family Foundation for their significant monetary support.

McHenry County Living is a year-long media supporter of our events, which we are grateful for. We received the support of many other businesses as well (sadly, too many to name here but listed on our ticket) who deserve our support in return.

The Service League, founded in 1931, is dedicated to providing immediate aid to Crystal Lake residents; $37,000 this past year alone. Since 1974, we have provided $520,000in scholarships to local students. The continuation of this effort depends on the support we receive from our community, and once again you did just that. Thank you.

Ruth Scifo

President, Service League of Crystal Lake
