There is a chance McHenry County could see its first dose of winter weather Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
A fast-moving storm system from the west is approaching and could bring some rain and light snow to the area this afternoon, National Weather Service Meteorologist Ben Deubelbeiss said.
Deubelbeiss said the precipitation is expected to begin around 1 p.m. in McHenry County and last until 5 p.m. But he added that counties further south are more likely to be impacted by the storm.
The next chance of precipitation in McHenry County is early next week, Deubelbeiss said, and early forecasts show warmer temperatures that are unlikely to produce winter weather.
