Business sponsors sought for Festival of Trees

LAKE IN THE HILLS – The 12th annual Festival of Trees will be held Dec. 6 at the Lake in the Hills Village Hall, 600 Harvest Gate.

For $75, businesses can be a part of the event by sponsoring a holiday tree that is already covered with hundreds of lights.

Decorate a tree with a theme of one’s choice, or businesses can sponsor a tree and be paired up with a nonprofit organization that will decorate. The business name will be prominently posted in front of the tree, offering communitywide recognition.

After the tree lighting, spectators cast their “vote” for their favorite tree by placing nonperishable food and household items at the base of the tree they like best. All items collected at the event will be donated to the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry.

To participate, fill out the sponsorship form (found on www.lith.org or at Village Hall) and return it with payment of $75 to the Village of Lake in the Hills. This fee includes the cost of the tree and lights.

For information, contact Andrew Gemmell at 847-960-7462 or agemmell@lith.org.
