Four charged in connection with Cary robbery

CARY – Four people detained for questioning Wednesday after a robbery in Cary have been charged with felony offenses, according to the Cary Police Department.

Ceszar A. Fernandez, 21, of Elgin; Mark A. Picazo, 19, of Bartlett; Leon Gonzalez Jr., 18, of Bartlett; and Christian J. Deleslin, 18, of Elgin, have each been charged with felony counts of aggravated robbery, possession of marijuana and theft of more than $500.

Police officers responded to a call around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday from a 20-year-old woman in the 1500 block of Crystal Lake Road who said she was robbed and had a gun brandished in her face. She provided a description of the four men.

The men were trying to rob the woman of drugs, according to the criminal complaint. They were found with 86 grams of marijuana, the complaint states.

A vehicle matching her description of the getaway car was pulled over by police at Walgreens on Route 14, and the four men inside were detained for questioning. The weapon, which was a BB gun, was recovered at Walgreens.

No one was injured during the incident.

The four men appeared in bond court Thursday morning.
