CHICAGO – Four teenagers were among five people shot and wounded overnight in Chicago.

Police spokeswoman Amina Greer said one of the teens was shot in the back around 3 a.m. Saturday while trying to outrun a gunman in the northwest Belmont Cragin neighborhood.

The 17-year-old victim ran inside a home and collapsed. He was hospitalized in critical condition.

WMAQ-TV reported that during the shooting one of the bullets went through a window of the home and struck a 53-year-old relative of the boy in the leg.

Police believe the shooting was gang-related.

About an hour later, an 18-year-old woman was shot on the Lower West Side.

On Friday, two other teens were wounded, including a 17-year-old shot in the knee while riding his bike in the Uptown neighborhood.
