HARVARD – A 39-year-old woman who crashed her vehicle into a tree Saturday was charged with driving under the influence, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Jacqualyn F. Mankowski of Harvard was driving a 2001 Buick LeSabre on the 4600 block of Countryside Lane about 4:30 p.m. Saturday when she crashed into a tree, according to the sheriff’s office.

Mankowski was trapped in the vehicle and had to be freed by members of the Harvard Fire Protection District. She was taken by the REACT Helicopter to Rockford Memorial Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, the sheriff’s office said.

Mankowski was charged with driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and driving with expired registration.

Her bond was set at $3,000.
