SPRINGFIELD – A group of protesters briefly interrupted an Illinois House debate about whether to provide tax credits for companies to keep their operations in Illinois.

Waving a banner reading "Represent Us," a handful of onlookers in the House gallery threw fake money on members of the Legislature on Wednesday.

They were removed Capitol security.

Lawmakers are considering several measures to give incentives to Illinois companies after Decatur-based Archer Daniels Midland Company announced in September it planned to relocate its global headquarters, taking about 100 high-level jobs with it.
