FOX RIVER GROVE – Next week, the Fox River Grove Water Department will be flushing, inspecting and flow testing fire hydrants throughout the village, according to a village news release.

Hydrant flushing, which is done twice yearly, helps ensure that fire hydrants are in good working order and improves water quality.

There may be some discoloration and pressure fluctuation during the flushing and for a short time afterward.

If the water is discolored, residents are asked to run the cold water until it clears. Residents may want to avoid doing laundry during the hydrant flushing.

They should look for the posted signs in their neighborhood.

For information, call the village at 847-639-3170.
