OSHA compliance, construction courses

McHENRY – McHenry County College is offering Occupational Safety and Health Administration 10-hour voluntary compliance and 10-hour construction training courses in November and December.

These courses are designed to help businesses create a safe workplace for employees.

The 10-hour voluntary compliance course is from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 25 and 26. This course covers rights and responsibilities under the OSHA Act, along with an introduction to general industry standards and an overview of the requirements of the more frequently cited standards to create a safer workplace. Participants who complete the course get a certificate of attendance and an OSHA 10-hour card from the Department of Labor. The course fee is $195, which includes materials. Participants can register using course ID: NTE S65 002. 

The OSHA 10-hour construction course is intended to teach entry-level construction workers how to recognize and prevent hazards on a construction site. This class is from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 9 and 11. Topics pertain to regulations covered by Standard 29 CFR 1926. Participants who complete the course will get a certificate of attendance and an OSHA 10-hour card. The course fee is $195, which includes materials. Participants can register using course ID: NTE S69 001.
