Holiday traditions continue with Crystal Lake Park District programs

CRYSTAL LAKE – Holiday fun has been a long-standing Crystal Lake Park District tradition, and there is something for everyone in the district’s busy December calendar.

• Letters to Santa: Send your child’s letter by Dec. 13, plus a stamped, self-addressed envelope and receive a reply a few days before Christmas.

Send letters to: Santa, C/O Crystal Lake Park District, 1 E. Crystal Lake Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014.

• North Pole Calling: This year, Santa will be calling park district boys and girls between 5 and 6 p.m. Dec. 9. Register for this free program by filling out an information sheet in advance.

Or pick one up at the park district or send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to North Pole Calling, Crystal Lake Park District, 1 E. Crystal Lake Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014, and a form will be mailed. The deadline is Dec. 5.

• Santa’s Workshop: This event will run from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 8 at Park Place, 406 W. Woodstock St., Crystal Lake.

The cost is $5 a child.

Receive a gift to give, make reindeer food, design Christmas decorations and enjoy hot cocoa and doughnuts. Everyone will have a chance to share their Christmas wish with Santa.
