CRYSTAL LAKE – The new Black Box Theatre at McHenry County College will host auditions for Kander and Ebb’s “Cabaret.”

“Cabaret” looks into the seedy nightlife of the Kit Kat Klub on the eve of Hitler’s rise to power in Weimar, Germany. “Cabaret” features well-known classics such as “Don’t Tell Mama,” “Maybe This Time” and “Cabaret.”

Auditions will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Dec. 2 and 3 with callbacks from 6 to 10 p.m. Dec. 5.

Those auditioning are asked to prepare a two- to three-minute song and dress to dance. They should bring a CD with musical accompaniment or a pianist will be provided.

There are roles for nine men and eight women, which include two middle-aged roles for Fraülein Schneider and Herr Schultz.

The auditions will be in Room B166-167, located in the commons area at the college, 8900 Route 14.
