WOODSTOCK – A fugitive topping the county’s list of most wanted was arrested in Pennsylvania.
Carlos F. Mendez was wanted in connection with possession and delivery of cocaine. He’s accused of distributing cocaine in April in the McHenry County area.
His last known address was in Rockford, but authorities believed that Mendez fled McHenry County to avoid capture. The 37-year-old then was placed on the Sheriff’s Office Top 10 Most Wanted list.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Apprehension Unit worked with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force to arrest Mendez in Souderton, Pa., about 40 miles north of Philadelphia. He was taken into custody without incident, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
His bond was set at $100,000.
