Lake in the Hills to offer quit-smoking program

Published: Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 11:58 p.m. CDT

LAKE IN THE HILLS – Join the Great American Smokeout by learning how to quit smoking through hypnosis.

More than 400,000 deaths in the U.S. each year are from smoking-related illnesses. Tobacco smoke contains nicotine, a drug that is addictive and can make it difficult, but not impossible, to quit.

Art Liedecker, a board-certified hypnotist with Presence Saint Joseph Hospital, will host a free seminar from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Lake in the Hills Village Hall, 600 Harvest Gate.

Everyone who attends will receive a free CD to help in facilitating them to stop smoking.

Advance registration is required. To register, call 877-737-4636.
