ALGONQUIN - Stripped of its outside signage, the Buffalo Wild Wings on Randall Road looks like it is closing up shop.
But the popular wing restaurant, located at 461 S. Randall Road, actually is preparing for a complete remodel that will update everything from the TVs to the beer taps.
The Algonquin Buffalo Wild Wings will temporarily close about 9 p.m. Dec. 1 and will tentatively reopen the night of Dec. 6 as the restaurant undergoes a corporate-required 10-year remodeling, according to John Weiler, president and operating partner of Here’s Wings LLC, a franchisee of Buffalo Wild Wings International.
The restaurant will put in new tile, add new 70- and 80-inch TVs, update the bar, replace carpeting and update the kitchen for faster ticket turnaround times.
Buffalo Wild Wings also is adding 10 new beer taps to the bar, which will increase its draft beer selection from 20 to 30 beers.
“Every once in a while you need a little house cleaning,” Weiler said. “Hopefully, everyone likes the changes. It’s a very large endeavor.”
Weiler declined to comment on the cost of the remodeling, but said it is “extensive” and a “positive thing.”
Buffalo Wild Wings opened on Randall Road in April 2002, and the updates will give patrons a better restaurant experience, Marketing Director Vicki Frantz said.
“It will be basically cleaner, brighter, more televisions, and a better beer selection,” Frantz said. “Hopefully, people will like the quicker ticket times and the fresh new look. It will be similar to Crystal Lake location. But the food and service will stay pretty much the same.”
