The McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce invites ladies to network with other professional women at the WINGs luncheon on “Age Matters: Trends and Tendencies of a Four-Generation Workforce,” presented Nov. 20 by Connie Fuller at 31 North Banquet & Conference Center.

Daily, it seems, information is emerging on the youngest generation in the workforce – Millenials – and the oldest – Baby Boomers. These two generations create new challenges for the leadership generation – Gen-Xers. Make a reservation at www.mchenrychamber.com.

The chamber invites you to attend Bring Your Lunch ‘N’ Learn on holiday stress, presented Friday by Capture Your Path Counseling’s Geri Condon in the Chamber office.

There are 40 days between Thanksgiving and New Years, and we celebrate three major holidays, bake endless amounts of food and shop until we drop. Throw in family dynamics, a dozen holiday celebrations, preparing Christmas cards, and, well, no wonder people become overwhelmed and depressed.

If you want to find some ways to reduce the holiday stress, come to this lunch and learn and relax for an hour while Geri helps you prepare a plan to get through it all.

Registrations at www.mchenrychamber.com.

The Chamber invites all to attend a Bring Your Lunch ‘N’ Learn on the Affordable Care Act and how it will impact your business, presented Dec. 4 at the Chamber by Chuck Wheeler of the Health Insurance Mart Agency and Shelly Nicholson of McHenry County Health Department.

Topics to be discussed include what will be required in 2014 for your health plan, what will the tax implications be, what will be available to employers off the exchange for 2014, and what are some alternatives to the ACA for small business?

Register at www.mchenrychamber.com.

The Chamber invites you to attend a Bring Your Lunch ‘N’ Learn on doing business in more than one state, presented Dec. 11 at the Chamber by Meaghan Wingbermuehle of Porte Brown.

Many companies in this modern business world find it necessary and beneficial to conduct activities in multiple states. The presentation will outline many of the out-of-state business activities that are protected from taxes under law, and other activities that could expose a business to multistate taxation. Having knowledge on nexus and state tax issues is necessary in getting your company on the right track to compliance, and prepares you before your company enters another state.

A complimentary lunch will be provided by Porte Brown. Registration at www.mchenrychamber.com.

Join the chamber for a Networking Tips and Tools on marketing with technology, presented at 7:30 a.m. Friday by Brent Allan of Marketing 2.0.

Using technology to grow your business often can seem expensive and overwhelming. In this presentation, Allan will cover the best ways to use technology to effectively market your business by utilizing email and social media.

Register at www.mchenrychamber.com.

Tuesday night is a mixer at the Room Place. It’s a great opportunity to meet the Room Place management.

Thursday is Marketing Connection III Shop with a Cop’s annual fundraiser at 31 North.

Be sure to attend the Chamber’s Christmas Party on Dec. 3 at 31 North. There will be funky door prizes, incredible food and, of course, Christmas spirits.
