Published: Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 2:45 p.m. CST

McHenry and Marengo have scheduled special brush pickups next week to deal with the debris left in the wake of Sunday's storms.

• MARENGO: The Marengo Public Works will conduct a special brush pick up starting Monday in response to the storms from last Sunday. All brush and associated limbs shall be placed curbside for pickup. To assist in this process, please cut any long limbs to a length of 10 feet maximum. Items for pickup are exclusively tree damage material and do not include root balls, twine, metal or other refuse. The Public Works team will be taking one pass along all streets in the town until free of storm debris. For information, contact the Marengo Public Works at 815-568-2669.

• McHENRY: Due to the wind storms Sunday, the Public Works Department will begin a special brush pickup on Monday. Residents that have any brush that they wish to be collected as a result of the windstorm need to move their brush to the curb no later than 7 a.m. Monday. All brush must be no more than 5 inches in diameter and as long as possible. The cut ends of the brush should be facing the road, and there will be no callbacks once the crews have been in an area. For information, call Public Works at 815-363-2186.
