A parolee faces drug charges following a home visit by law enforcement officials Saturday night, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

Derrek J. Valicenti, 30, was charged Saturday with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a hypodermic needle and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Members of the county’s parole division and sheriff’s office visited Valicenti’s home in the 300 block of East Crystal Lake Avenue in an unincorporated area of the county near Crystal Lake at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release. Valicenti arrived home with a woman during the home visit, and a small bag of heroin and other drug paraphernalia were found.

The woman, Josephine K. Baloun, of Crystal Lake, was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic needle.

Both were still being held at the McHenry County Jail as of 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

They are scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
