Prep roundup: Prairie Ridge girls open with win

The Prairie Ridge girls basketball team opened its season Monday with a 61-56 win over Highland Park in the Mundelein Thanksgiving Tournament.

The Wolves (1-0) took a one-point lead into halftime and scored 24 points in the third quarter to blow open the game.

Maddie Drain led the Wolves with 18 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks, with Aly Clark scoring 16 and Kelly Klendworth adding 12 points.

The Wolves play Mundelein at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Grayslake Central 55, Dundee-Crown 49: At Carpentersville, Jesenia LaBoy scored 11 points to lead the Chargers (0-1) in their Fox Valley Conference crossover loss.
