Roundup: Crystal Lake South tops Johnsburg in girls basketball

The Crystal Lake South girls basketball team outscored Johnsburg by 10 in the third quarter Tuesday for a 66-52 Fox Valley Conference crossover win.

The Gators (1-0) outscored Johnsburg 17-7 in the third quarter, with Chanel Fanter leading South with 20 points. Sara Mickow added 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Rachel Rasmussen added 14 points in the win.

Kayla Toussaint scored 18 points, with four 3-pointers, to lead the Skyhawks (0-1), with Katie Poczkalski adding 12 points.

Huntley 62, CL Central 33: At Huntley, Sam Andrews led the Red Raiders (1-0) with 20 points, and Ali Andrews added 13, as they each went 4 for 4 on free throws in an FVC crossover win. Huntley is ranked No. 9 in this week's Associated Press Class 4A poll.

Shannon Ellman had nine points to lead the Tigers (0-1).

Jacobs 49, Woodstock 39: At Algonquin, Jessica Powell and Jenni Barnes each scored 13 points to lead the Golden Eagles (1-0), with Carly Sidor adding 12.

Dakota Brand scored 13 points to lead the Blue Steaks (0-1).

Mundelein Tournament: At Mundelein, Prairie Ridge lost to Mundelein, 57-56.

Kirsten Voel-Pel led the Wolves (1-1) with 17 points and had seven rebounds, with Maddie Drain adding 11 points and nine rebounds. Prairie Ridge faces Carmel at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the tournament.

Antioch 65, Richmond-Burton 36: At Antioch, Abby Straight led the Rockets (0-1) with 12 points in their nonconference loss.


McHenry 3,086, Johnsburg 2,522: At Raymond's Bowl in Johnsburg, Jarrett Lanway led the Warriors with a 643 series, with Paul Colomer adding a 635 series and a high-game of 240.

Joey Flack led the Skyhawks with a 558 series.

Woodstock co-op 2,678, Marengo 2,517: At Wayne's Lanes in Woodstock, Zach Meyers led the Woodstock co-op with a 677 series and a game-high of 258.

Mike Villerreal led the Indians with a 571 series.
