Mourners gather to remember Decatur teenager

DECATUR — About 100 people attended a peace rally to remember a 15-year-old from central Illinois who died after being shot in the head.

WAND-TV reports a crowd gathered at Old Kings Orchard Community Center in Decatur on Thursday to honor Junisha Cummings' life.

The event included DJs, musicians, dancers and tumblers.

Cummings died Nov. 13 at an Urbana hospital.

A 15-year-old is facing a first-degree murder charge for her death.
