Pharmaceutical training course offered at MCC

CRYSTAL LAKE – McHenry County College is offering a three-month aseptic pharmaceutical preparations training program beginning in January.

Those interested in the course are invited to a free information session from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10 in Room A115 at MCC. The next training session will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings Jan. 28 through April 24.

The focus of this 75-hour, one-semester course is on development of core competencies necessary to safely prepare and deliver sterile commercial and compounded pharmaceuticals. Before enrolling in this course, it is recommended that the student should be a pharmacist, nurse, nursing student, quality assurance specialist, pharmacy technician or have completed a pharmacy technician program.
