Driver injured in Richmond accident

RICHMOND – A 17-year-old girl had to be extricated from her car and flown to a hospital after a one-car accident Sunday evening.

The Richmond Fire Department was dispatched to Tryon Grove Road, west of Keystone Road, at around 7:30 p.m. for the call. The girl lost control of the SUV she was driving and rolled off the road and into a tree, Fire Chief Rick Gallas said.

The girl had to be removed through a "prolonged extrication," due to the condition of the vehicle, Gallas said.

She was taken by Flight for LIfe to the Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with non-life threatening injuries.
