Silent auction to benefit new Marengo library begins

MARENGO – Residents can now place their bids for seven holiday gift baskets as part of a silent auction that helps raise money for Marengo-Union Library's new building along Grant Highway.

Residents can visit the library, 200 S. State St., Marengo, and place a bid on any of the holiday baskets, including themed ones based around quilitng, baking, chocolate, candles and tea.

The bidding for the silent auction lasts until Monday, Dec. 16. The proceeds from the event goes toward the Friends of the Marengo-Union Library and its effort to raise money for a new library building at 19714 E. Grant Highway in Marengo.
