MARENGO – Residents are invited to attend a slew of youth activities the Marengo-Union Library has planned for December, beginning on Monday.

People can bring a sweater or sweatshirt and other supplies to the library, 200 S. State St., Marengo, to create an ugly sweater for the holiday season.

The craft event begins at 3:30 p.m. Monday for kids ages 10 or older.

Registration is required. The library will provide glue guns and also has a limited number of decorations available.

Middle and high school students also can participate in the library’s new teen advisory board to discuss books and general library activities.

The board’s upcoming meeting starts at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kids ages 12 or older can stop by the library at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 10 to make and decorate their own gingerbread house. Interested participants are asked to bring a cookie sheet and register beforehand.

To register for any of these events, call the library at 815-568-8236.
