Who’s really in charge?

To the Editor:

When Fast and Furious was revealed, President Obama said he had no knowledge of the program.

As Benghazi unfolded, the president said he had no knowledge. When scandals involving the IRS and the NSA were announced, he again proclaimed no knowledge. When it was reported that a Fox News reporter was being monitored, he professed ignorance of the facts. And now that a glitch-filled Obamacare website has become a laughingstock, President Obama has washed his hands of the fiasco by claiming he had no prior knowledge of the flawed program.

We are forced to draw one of two conclusions: 1. The president has rogue administrative officials that are acting unilaterally without his consent; or 2. The president was aware of all actions before their implementation and is lying to the American people.

If the president had no prior knowledge of these scandalous actions, then his incompetency makes him unworthy to hold the office of the president. If the president had prior knowledge and is lying to the American people, then he should be impeached and removed from office.

Had the president held a comparable private sector job, he long since would have been fired. But a president who wants to be judged solely on good intentions, not good results, is given a pass. It is astounding and predictable that the mainstream media and the president’s doting followers refuse to ask the question: Who’s really in charge?
