Mama Rini’s Restaurant in Crystal Lake closes

CRYSTAL LAKE – Mama Rini’s Restaurant, 177 Route 14, Crystal Lake, closed last month.

The family owned, family-style restaurant served breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is unclear if ownership plans to reopen the business.

On Dec. 7, the restaurant posted to its Facebook page: “Thanks for all the kind messages and support. We hope to open soon.”

On Monday the lights were off in the restaurant and it had two “closed” signs on its doors. The restaurant’s phone number was disconnected.

Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce President Gary Reece said he is aware that the business has closed, but he hasn’t spoken with the owner and doesn’t know whether the restaurant will reopen.

Attempts to reach Mama Rini’s ownership were unsuccessful Monday.
