WOODSTOCK – An informational seminar hosted by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office will teach residents about scams.

The presentation will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Senior Services at the McHenry Township Building, 3519 N. Richmond Road.

The seminar will provide information on seasonal scams, and on the trends observed in the last three months. Tips will be offered on what to watch out for, how to protect oneself and what to do if you become a victim.

The presentation is designed for all McHenry County residents. Those who are caregivers to seniors or are a senior themselves are especially encouraged to participate because often seniors are the targeted victims.

“This presentation will provide firsthand information on what is going on in McHenry County,” Undersheriff Andy Zinke said in a news release. “Our goal is to share information and arm our citizens with knowledge in an effort to prevent them from becoming victims.”

For information, call the Sheriff’s Office at 815-338-2144.
