Sarah Benigni made Marian Central girls basketball history Thursday night in a 49-46 win over St. Francis in Suburban Christian Conference Blue Division play.
Benigni scored a single-game school record 30 points for the Hurricanes in the win. She made 14 baskets, including nine in the first half. She capped her night by added two more baskets in the fourth quarter before making two free throws to seal the win.
Teammate Brie Baumert scored nine points while Ellen Koscielniak scored five for Marian (4-1).
Rockford Christian 52, Richmond-Burton 35: At Richmond, Grace Schwegel led the Rockets with 11 points while Jessica Guenther and Sara Swanson each added eight in the loss.
Abby Straight grabbed seven rebounds for the Rockets.
Rockford Christian Life 51, Alden-Hebron 32: At Rockford, the Giants (2-4, 0-2 NAC) fell in the Northeastern Athletic Conference game. Alden-Hebron was led by Jacqueline Walters with 12 points. Brooklyn Hilton and Hannah Warren each added six points in the loss.
North Boone 48, Harvard 39: At Harvard, Makenna Powell led the Hornets with 16 points. Powell made the only 3-pointer of the game which she made in the third quarter. Kaylee Rischke added 12 points for Harvard in the loss.
Grayslake North 2,430, Huntley 2,045: At Grayslake, Shannon Walsh had a team-high 453 series for the Red Raiders while Megan Sass added a 417 in the loss.
The Knights' Jess Vaughn had a meet-high series of 640.
Johnsburg 2,347, McHenry 2,263: At Johnsburg, Allison Boelter led the Skyhawks with a high series of 523 including a team-high 211 game.
McHenry's Amy Goodman bowled a meet-high 245 game during her 513 series.
Dundee-Crown 2,564, Woodstock co-op 2,155: At Woodstock, Amanda Smith led the Chargers with a team-high game of 245 while bowling a 639 series. Karissa Ganio and Taylor Ganio each had a 500 series for D-C.
Samantha Kunke had a meet-high 266 game en route to a 627 series for Woodstock co-op.
