BELLEVILLE — A southwestern Illinois man remains jailed on $200,000 bond after being accused of stabbing another man in the neck with scissors.
The Belleville News-Democrat reports St. Clair County prosecutors charged 56-year-old Charles Phillips of Belleville area with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He's also accused of being a repeat offender of domestic battery.
Authorities say a sheriff's deputy responding Wednesday to a reported stabbing found the injured victim, who said Phillips had plunged a scissors into his neck during an argument.
Online court records don't show whether Phillips has an attorney. He does not have a listed home telephone number.
