LAKE IN THE HILLS – The police department's extra enforcement during the two-week period around Thanksgiving led to three drunk driving arrests, the department said in a news release.
From Nov. 18 through Dec. 1, the police department charged three drivers who had blood alcohol contents greater than .08.
“These offenders needed to realize their actions have serious and potentially fatal consequences, and, hopefully, now that they have been arrested, they will not put themselves and others at risk by driving drunk again,” Director of Police and Public Safety James Wales said in a news release.
The extra enforcement was paid for with a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
