Published: Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 11:36 p.m. CDT

SPRING GROVE – As part of a statewide campaign, Spring Grove police will be cracking down on drunken drivers.

The stepped up enforcement, which will run Dec. 20 though Jan. 5, is being paid for using federal traffic safety funds funneled through the Illinois Department of Transportation, according to a news release.

Officers also will be on the lookout for those not wearing a seat belt, which is required for drivers as well as front and backseat passengers. The campaign also will be supported by national and state advertising.
