Two people were taken to the hospital Wednesday after their vehicle swerved off the road and into a Creek in Huntley.

HUNTLEY – Two people were sent to area hospitals Wednesday after a vehicle swerved off the road and fell into a creek.

About 2:15 p.m., a 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette was traveling east on Kreutzer Road toward Haligus Road when it swerved off the road, smashed through a guardrail, turned over and fell roughly 15 feet into a creek, according to Deputy Police Chief Mike Klunk.

An adult male and an adult female were inside had to be extricated from the vehicle by Huntley firefighters.

The male was taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, and the female was taken to Centegra Hospital – Woodstock, Klunk said. Both individuals, whose names were not available, are in stable condition, according to the Huntley Fire Department.

Wintry road conditions do not appear to be the cause of the accident. The crash is under investigation, Klunk said.
