LAKE FOREST — Jay Cutler took the first reps in quarterback drills during the portion of Bears practice open to the media on Thursday.
Cutler was a full participant in practice and will start Sunday against the Browns.
Marc Trestman said Wednesday that if all went well in a workout, Cutler would be set to return to being the Bears’ starting quarterback. Josh McCown took the reps after Cutler.
Lance Briggs also returned to participation in Bears practice, but likely in a limited fashion. Trestman was not optimistic about Briggs’ availability for Sunday, but this is a good sign to getting Briggs back for the Eagles game on Dec. 22.
Briggs had not practiced since injuring his shoulder on Oct. 20.
