Island Lake collects toys for tornado victims

ISLAND LAKE – In an effort to provide new toys to families hit by the tornadoes in central Illinois, the village of Island Lake has set up a drop-off point for donations.

New toys or cash can be dropped off 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave., before the end of the day Friday, so they can be delivered to the communities affected the following day.

Cash donations will be used to purchase gift cards that tornado victims can use at area stores.

Checks should be made payable to the Village of Island Lake and reference the Toys for Central Illinois campaign.

For nformation, call Island Lake Trustee Keith Johns at 847-526-8764.
