WOODSTOCK – An inmate of the McHenry County Jail is facing new charges after he allegedly stabbed another in the neck with a pencil.
Juan D. Lebron, 29, of Woodstock, has been jailed since July on aggravated criminal sexual abuse charges to which he previously pleaded guilty. He will be sentenced on Jan. 8.
Lebron was charged again Monday with aggravated battery with great bodily harm stemming from a fight with Joshua R. Hachmeister, another inmate.
According to the latest criminal complaint Lebron punched Hachmeister, 33, with a pencil, causing a piece of it to become embedded in his neck.
Hachmeister, of Wonder Lake, was taken to Centegra Hospital-Woodstock for injuries that were not life threatening. The McHenry County Sheriff's Office wouldn't say whether he was still being treated at the hospital Tuesday, citing security reasons.
Lebron has been isolated from other inmates since the incident, the Sheriff's Office said.
Hachmeister has been in custody since August. He's charged with aggravated driving under the influence after previously having been convicted of DUI four times.
Lebron's next court date on the battery charge is Dec. 19.
