Running out of time

To the Editor:

Remembering from my high school world history lesson, the Egyptian people lasted about 4,000 years. The Greeks about 2,000 years. The Romans about 1,000 years. The English about 500 years, and the Americans, if they are lucky, maybe they make 16 years more to complete 250 years.

Please notice every following nation lasted about half the previous nation. If my observation is correct, the American people have 16 years to straighten out the mess America got itself into.

This difficult predicament is $17 trillion in debt to be paid off in 16 years. I am sorry to say America is following the aforementioned nations into the past. I hope and pray to God that America will recover and return to her forefathers’ ways.
