WOODSTOCK – A Round Lake Beach teenager pleaded not guilty to allegations that he gave a Johnsburg woman the heroin that killed her.

Justin T. Hurt, 17, has been in custody since being charged with drug-induced homicide, stemming from the Nov. 21 death of Stephanie Habhab.

He’s alleged to have provided Habhab the heroin that caused her overdose. She was 19 years old.

Hurt entered a not guilty plea Tuesday before McHenry County Judge Gordon Graham.

He needs $20,000 to be released from McHenry County Jail.

Drug-induced homicide is a Class X felony, punishable by between six and 30 years in prison. He also was charged with felony unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

Hurt’s next court date is Jan. 7.
