Kudos to the Cary Park District for the many varied and innovative programs and classes it offers to residents of all ages.
As an older adult recovering from a year-long treatment for a debilitating illness, I have found the district’s weekly Sitting Strong class particularly beneficial. It helped me regain my flexibility, coordination, strength and energy, and has really put a spring back into my step.
Our instructor, Nancy Buhr, has been especially helpful. Guiding us through exercises that are vigorous without being strenuous, she helps participants get the most from the class. Our workout is enjoyable and stimulating – even though we are sitting down.
If you’re looking for an exercise program that challenges but doesn’t strain those tired muscles and creaking joints, come join us at Sitting Strong. It’s just what the doctor ordered.
