Hinkle Classic roundup: Prairie Ridge tops Barrington

ALGONQUIN – Michael Bradshaw and Steven Ticknor each scored 18 points to lead Prairie Ridge past Barrington, 73-61, in Jacobs’ Hinkle Holiday Classic opener Saturday at the Eagles’ Nest.

Matt Perhats added 11 points and Payton Otto scored 10 for the Wolves (6-3 overall, 1-0 Pool III).

The Wolves lost forward Jack Berg in the first half. Berg sat on the bench for several minutes with attention from the trainer and had a dazed look after taking an elbow to his forehead. He was taken by paramedics to a hospital at halftime.

Wolves coach Corky Card said Berg had a CT scan and received a good report. He might be back in the lineup Monday.

Pool I

Tilden 100, Johnsburg 87: Michael Winfield scored 25 points and Martaiz Jackson added 22 as the Blue Devils (5-4, 1-0) and Skyhawks (1-8, 0-1) set a tournament record for combined points in their Pool I opener.

Collin Ridout led Johnsburg with 21 points and Steve Dixon added 18.

Pool II

Carmel 43, Cary-Grove 34: The Corsairs (7-2, 1-0) got 16 points from Christopher Duff Jr. to defeat the Trojans (3-6, 0-1) in their pool opener. Michael Barr added 10.

C-G got nine points from Devin McDonough, who hit three 3s, and eight each from Jason Gregoire and Michael Krich.

Jefferson 82, CL Central 42: M.L. Moore and Tyler Young each scored 15 points to lead the J-Hawks past the Tigers (0-10, 0-1) in their pool opener.

Kenny Vesely led Central with 11 points and Cavanagh Murphy scored 10.

Pool IV

Bartlett 59, Marian Central 58: Ryan DeCanio scored 22 points to lead the Hawks (8-3, 1-0 Pool IV) past the Hurricanes (5-4, 0-1).

Matt Ricchiuto scored 15 points and Adam Pischke added 12 for Marian.
