CRYSTAL LAKE – The Illinois State Police will conduct roadside checks Saturday night into Sunday morning on the Interstate 90 ramp westbound to Route 31.

Officers working the safety check – scheduled from 11 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday – will focus on those driving dangerously, driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license, transporting open alcoholic beverages or driving under the influence, according to a news release from the Department of Transportation.

Alcohol and drug impairment is a significant factor in nearly 40 percent of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois.
