Acts of kindness
To the Editor:
On behalf of the Grafton Food Pantry's clients, volunteers and the board of directors, we would like to express our most heartfelt thank you to the local churches, Sun City neighborhoods and clubs, the Huntley High School football organization, the Huntley Chamber of Commerce, local businesses and many, many individuals who reached out to make the holidays brighter for our clients and their families.
We are blessed to be the recipient of many acts of kindness. We especially appreciate the ongoing efforts of the churches and individuals that remember us every month throughout the year. This is a community that cares deeply about their neighbors who are struggling economically.
We were so thankful that we were able to distribute almost 200 Thanksgiving dinners with gift cards. Additionally, it was a memorable Christmas with almost 200 holiday meals with gift cards; 300 children's coats and an abundance of gifts and additional food items donated for our clients. The generosity that was demonstrated will provide nutrition and warmth for many months to come.
The Grafton Food Pantry brings the entire community together on many levels. Our donors and volunteers are multi-generational and represent all faiths and ethnic backgrounds. Together, we are fighting hunger in our community. If you are interested in helping in any way, please visit us at graftonfoodpantry.org for further information.
