Carpentersville woman dies after falling off truck

OAK BROOK – A 19-year-old woman who died after falling off the back of a truck in Oak Brook on Sunday was identified by the DuPage County Coroner’s office.

Stephanie Siers of Carpentersville was working on the back of a truck when she fell and struck her head around 1 p.m. near 22nd Street and Clearwater Drive.

The woman was unresponsive and lying in the road when the Oak Brook police and fire departments responded to the scene. She was transported to Elmhurst Hospital, where she later died, according to a news release from the Oak Brook Police Department.

Police said the woman worked for a contractor responsible for removing snow and ice for a nearby business property. The driver of the truck, who reported the incident and remained on the scene, was questioned and released without charges.

“It’s really just a very tragic accident,” officer Ben Kadolph said.
