HEBRON – A garage was destroyed during an early morning fire Thursday in Hebron, according to the Hebron-Alden-Greenwood Fire Protection District.

Crews were called to the 12000 block of Third Avenue about 5:37 a.m. after a report of a fully involved garage fire near a home in that area, fire officials said. Firefighters arrived to find flames quickly spreading from a detached garage.

Because of the concern that the flames would spread to neighboring homes and a vehicle in the driveway, emergency personnel from Richmond Township, Spring Grove, Wonder Lake, Woodstock, Harvard and McHenry Township were called to assist with the blaze, fire officials said.

Wisconsin firefighters from Lake Geneva, Linn, Randall, Bloomfield-Genoa City, Twin Lakes, Walworth and Fontana also assisted with the incident.

The fire was limited to the garage, but siding on two homes and the vehicle in the driveway suffered minor damage, fire officials said. The garage was completely destroyed.

The total damage was estimated at $75,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

No one was injured during the blaze.
