McHENRY – People who recently have received cancer diagnoses are encouraged to attend Centegra Health System’s free one-time Guided Patient Services class with their care partners.

The next available classes will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 14 and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 28 in the Gavers Cancer Resource Library at the Centegra Sage Cancer Center, 4305 Medical Center Drive, McHenry.

The class provides patients information and resources to help them as they begin cancer treatment. They learn how Centegra Survivorship Training and Rehabilitation program team members will play roles in their care. The STAR program focuses on preventing and addressing the side effects caused by cancer treatments.

Patients also receive assessments that help the Centegra team develop their personalized plans of care and meet their treatment needs.

To register for a class or for information, call the Centegra STAR Program coordinator at 815-759-4870.
