CHICAGO (AP) — The concourse of the state of Illinois' Thompson Center in downtown Chicago has been evacuated after a report of a suspicious package.

Illinois State Police and Chicago Police Department officials say both agencies responded Friday afternoon.

Illinois State Police spokeswoman Monique Bond says there was a report of an unattended suitcase left in the concourse. She says state police's canine unit responded. Chicago police officials say the department's bomb and arson unit also responded.

The building houses offices for state agencies, including Gov. Pat Quinn.
