Pedestrian killed by train in Woodstock

WOODSTOCK – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a train Monday night at the railroad crossing at Short and Railroad streets in Woodstock.

Theodis R. Williams, 34, of Woodstock was identified as the victim, said Woodstock Police Sgt. Dennis Leard. The railroad’s crossing gates and signals were working at the time of the incident, Leard said.

Woodstock Fire Capt. Scott Nieman said firefighters and police responded to the scene at 6:47 p.m. Monday to find Williams dead on arrival.

Metra was delayed for two hours after the incident. An investigation is ongoing. Visit for more updates as they become available.
