LAKE IN THE HILLS – The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce board of directors announced Thursday it had selected a new leader for the business organization.
The board unanimously picked Katrina McGuire to be the chamber’s president. That position was held by Sandy Oslance from 2005 to late October 2013. McGuire started the job Thursday, according to an email from Dave Rudin, chairman of the chamber’s board.
“Katrina’s skills and background will be important to help move the chamber forward to accomplish our goals and vision for the future,” Rudin wrote in the email. “She brings a passion for results and a proven track record for leadership.”
McGuire most recently served as the director of development and interim executive director for Russian Leadership Ministries, an organization in Wheaton that prepares leaders to serve in churches in Russia. She also has held leadership roles with the Rochester Auburn Hills Community Coalition in Rochester Hills, Mich., and Career Education Corp. in Schaumburg.
McGuire has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from William Tyndale College and is completing a master of science degree in business administration through Central Michigan University, according to the announcement.
She lives with her family in Lake in the Hills.
