JOLIET – A Joliet man was sentenced to 63 years in prison for repeatedly sexually assaulting a young girl for a decade.

Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow said 36-year-old Jason Hagerstrom was sentenced Monday by Circuit Judge Robert Livas.

Hagerstrom pleaded guilty to seven counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

Prosecutors said Hagerstrom had sex with the victim for almost 10 years before he was charged with the crime in December 2012.

Glasgow called Hagerstrom a dangerous predator who “stole a child’s innocence.” He said he’s thankful that Hagerstrom will spend his life in prison and never have the chance to harm another child.
