WOODSTOCK – A McHenry man is in custody at the McHenry County Jail on allegations that he possessed and reproduced child pornography.

Jeffrey A. Good, 60, of 601 Silbury Court, was arrested Monday on 10 counts of possessing or reproducing images of children engaged in sex acts. Half of those charges are Class X felonies punishable by between six and 30 years in prison.

McHenry County Sheriff’s Lt. James Popovits said investigators found the downloaded child pornography on Good’s computer. Some images also were copied to external media and categorized. That reproduction resulted in the Class X felonies, Popovits said.

The sheriff’s office worked with the Illinois Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force on the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.

Good’s arrest marks the third high-profile child pornography arrest in recent weeks. Robert A. Huggins of Algonquin is accused of being the state’s largest trader of child pornography. At the same time, David M. Wolters of Woodstock was charged on Dec. 19.

Good’s bond is set at $100,000. He is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
