As freeze eases, so do Chicago flight disruptions

CHICAGO – The deep freeze is beginning to thaw in the Midwest, and that's helping airlines get more flights off the ground at Chicago's airports.

According to the city's department of aviation, there are some disruptions Wednesday but far fewer than previous days.

Airlines at O'Hare International Airport have canceled 180 flights for the day so far, and there are some delays averaging 30 minutes.

At Midway International Airport, airlines are reporting a few delays averaging 40 minutes and around six cancellations.

Aviation officials are reminding travelers to check their airline's website for the most up-to-date flight status.

Airlines canceled more than 1,000 flights in Chicago on Monday and Tuesday.
